No, you do not need prior coaching experience to join this programme.

In fact, many of our participants begin with little or no formal or informal coaching background.

What matters far more than experience is your willingness to learn, reflect, and engage.

Some people join with years of leadership or professional experience but are new to coaching. Others are already practising coaches looking to deepen their capability. The programme is designed to meet you where you are and support your development from that point.

Because this is experiential training, you won’t be expected to “know how to coach” from the start.

You will:

• Learn the foundations of coaching in a structured, supported way

• Practise coaching in real time

• Receive feedback to build your confidence and skill

By the end of the programme, you will not only understand coaching, you will have experienced it, practised it, and begun to embody it.

The programme is mostly delivered live online to support experiential and powerful learning. Before each training session, we release short video content to prepare you for the live training. The video content, which you should complete at your convenience before the training, does not replace the live training component. 

Yes. The programme is ICF-approved and offers a recognised pathway into professional coaching.

A Discovery Call is designed to help you determine what is best for you. The programme includes live sessions, practicing skills outside of the training, pre-training video completion, 'homeplay' activities, and reflection." Most participants set aside a few hours each week to fully engage and get the most value from the training.

Yes. Practice is a core part of the learning experience, offering opportunities to coach, be coached by your peers and trainers/coaches, receive feedback, and observe others throughout the training programme. As you learn the various skills of coaching conversations, you practice and gain experience.

You’ll be supported by experienced coaches, trainers, facilitators, your peer group, and coach mentors, creating a safe and encouraging learning environment.

Completing the live training is not the end; it’s the beginning of how you integrate and apply what you’ve learned meaningfully.

After the live training, you will continue to:

• Deepen your coaching capability through triad practice and coaching practice reflection
• Apply coaching skills in leadership, conversations, and decision-making
• Strengthen your confidence through real-world experience
• Attend regular Q&A mentoring calls to support your journey (and complete your certificate requirements).
• Participate in the 10 hour mentoring programme. After completing group mentoring, experience one-to-one mentoring for credentialing purposes and to support and enhance your coaching skills.
• Participate in coaching supervision to support yourself as a coach - a restorative and developmental practice (required for joining the Level 2 participants have the opportunity to partake in coaching super-vision.
• You also have the option to join Empower World's Reignite Programme to continue developing your coaching skills and potentially fast track your credentialing requirements.

You remain part of the Empower World community with access to alumni connections, ongoing learning opportunities, and spaces to continue reflecting and growing.

Yes. You don't just leave with a piece of paper. You leave with an ICF-recognised credential, real coaching hours, and a depth of self-awareness that most people spend years trying to find. Once you have completed your coach training requirements, you have the opportunity to have a coaching call assessed to support you to meet the core competencies of coaching and sit an assessment to support your professional coaching knowledge.

The training and mentoring programmes set you up for success. 

Assessment happens throughout the programme - in the form of coaching practice, reflection, and observed sessions - so by the time you complete, you have already proven to yourself that you can do this. The credential simply confirms what you already know.
